Job Title:         Senior Electronic Repair Technician

Department:   Engineering-Product Support

Reports To:     Engineering Supervisor

 

Summary:

Is responsible to trouble shoot and repair electronic components as well as manufacturing new components. Additionally the technician is responsible for manufacturing new electrical test boxes, wiring harnesses, and test stands to support the production departments.    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair current PHS/MWA test fixtures and test stands.
  • Troubleshoot and repair aviation product pc boards, such as refrigeration controllers, sink controllers, oven controllers and various other pc board assemblies as directed.
  • Organize current PHS/MWA test fixtures with complete documentation packages, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOM and operating instructions.
  • Assemble and wire new test fixtures. Test and troubleshoot as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates of Electronic Engineering Technology or equivalent discipline. Can be substituted with military training and experience.
  • 4+ years practical experience with component level troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability and experience to use common industry repair and troubleshooting tools, O'scopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc...
  • Ability to solder and & de-solder per J-STD.
  • Good written and oral communications skills.
  • Labview experience is a plus but not required
  • Schematic CAD program experience is a plus but not required
  • Must be a self-motivated, and have a proven track record troubleshooting and repairing electronic pc boards and assemblies.

Language Skills:                                            

Must have the ability to read and write in the English language. Understand component maintenance manuals, specifications, all applicable FAA regulatory requirements, and additional documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals as required or when necessary. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence as required.

Mathematical Skills:                                                  

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

Reasoning Ability:                                                     

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
